The Grove Groundbreaking Marks Wallick's Entry into Memory Care

With the backdrop of construction equipment and the unveiling of a “living billboard,” residents and family members, owners and staff of Oakleaf Village of Toledo, representatives from the Ohio Assisted Living Association and the Alzheimer’s Association of Northwest Ohio and others broke ground October 8 on The Grove at Oakleaf Village, a new $6.3 million memory care community.

Wallick Communities – Finalist for Business First Best Places to Work Award

One of the company’s business goals is be a premier employer in our industry as well as in central Ohio.

We are proud to be named a finalist for Business First newspaper’s “Best Places to Work” award in the mid-size business category for the second year in a row. The award recognizes the top companies in central Ohio based on confidential workplace satisfaction surveys. The awards luncheon is November 12.

It will be located on the campus of Oakleaf Village of Toledo, and will have 40 units with 48 beds in four residential neighborhoods. Construction will take
approximately 12 months, weather permitting, and will employ 130 people during that time. When complete, The Grove will create 20-25 new, full-time jobs.

“The Grove at Oakleaf Village will be a wonderful resource for people who live here at Oakleaf and
others in the community,” said Oakleaf Resident
Mary Rose Rohr.

“We have worked with Oakleaf Village of Toledo for years. This expansion, with the creation of The Grove
at Oakleaf Village, will meet the increasing need for
specialized memory care services for their current residents and others throughout the Toledo area, especially as the baby boomer generation continues
to age,” said Ohio Assisted Living Association Executive Director Jean Thompson.
